Born in New Brunswick, Claude Théberge grew up in Témiscouata. Having studied art in France, he returned to Quebec to found a workshop devoted to the integration of art and architecture, which would create the wall claddings for Papineau and Rosemont stations. After receiving a bachelor's degree in design management, he started a second workshop which included such artists as Antoine Lamarche and Michel Dernuet. He would later leave integrated artworks to take up representational painting, a career in which he received several prestigious honours and distinctions and been featured in numerous exhibitions.
